College of Education


The College of Education includes four instructional units. Programs offered in this college lead to the degrees of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Arts in Education (M.A.E.), Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.), Specialist in Education (Ed.S.), and Doctor of Education (Ed.D.).

The Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree is a terminal professional degree offered through the College of Education. Designed for educators practicing across various learning environments - formal, informal, and nonformal, this Ed.D. program supports advanced study in specialized academic fields aligned with students’ professional goals and dissertation topics. Students may pursue areas of study in Allied Health, Recreation, and Community Services; Curriculum and Instruction; Educational Leadership (including Principalship, Special Education Director, and Superintendency); or Postsecondary Education: Student Affairs. An interdisciplinary track is also available for students who wish to integrate coursework from multiple fields. The program requires a minimum of 48 semester hours beyond the master’s degree.
